Book 2 begins where Book 1 ends. Grace and Gordon help catch crooks on Halloween, but who is spying on them when they get back to Gordon's house? Grace, Gordon, Nick and Miranda invent a handy way of generating ideas for stories - at least a billion of them!
Can the clock be turned both backwards and forwards? And can their guardian angels help Gordon’s dad catch a serial killer...?
Grace and Gordon invite a Fairy King and Queen to attend the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Myddleton, and at the same time discover an evil plot against the monarchy in Fairyland . What happens when Groc the Knocker launches the inaugural meeting of the National Fairy Front? ...
I hope that this story will make you laugh quite a lot, but I must be honest and tell you that in places it makes me cry...
You will know from reading Book 1 that the Myrddin’s Heir series sets out to challenge you. One of my most important questions therefore remains “Are YOU still up for the challenge?”

Amazing Grace Myrddin Heir Book 2 edition by Robin Chambers Amy Chambers Literature Fiction eBooks
In Book 2 of the Myrrdin’s Heir series, the story expands to follow four main characters. Of course there’s the Heir himself, eleven year old Gordon, but we also learn more about Grace, whom Gordon meets at the end of Book 1. Also taking center stage are their two ‘non-powered’ classmates Nick and Miranda. We follow these four friends (six if you count invisible friends, Zach and Zoe) through a wild variety of fantasies, dreams, and imagined stories. We also spend time with Gordon’s father, a policeman, who begins to come to terms with his son’s extraordinary powers, and the potential ramifications of those powers. As Gordon continues his coming-of-age, Book 2 explores some heady stuff, including the struggle between good and evil, both in our everyday lives and in more metaphysical and mystical context.
But there’s also plenty of time for fun and enlightenment, including an inspired game that the friends play called the ‘Billion Stories Booklet.’ The friends lose themselves in several genres of stories (there’s also a discussion of what the term ‘genre’ means) and the reader is along for the ride. So not only are you visiting with wizards and fairies, but you meet pirates, spaceship captains, romantic leads, friendly ghosts, ghastly monsters, and even Mother Teresa.
Pretty good for the price of admission!

Amazing Grace Myrddin Heir Book 2 edition by Robin Chambers Amy Chambers Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Author, Robin Chambers, has crafted a series of Fantasy/YA books that tell fascinating tales. I was hooked from the first page of Book 1, Wizard of Dreams and found Book 2, Amazing Grace equally riveting.
Amazing Grace, picks up where the first book left off, with an extraordinarily gifted child, Gordon entering a new school.
This book explores and expands the gifts and special powers Gordon and his newfound friend, Grace possess. Zack and Zoe, the children’s alter-egos, play equally important roles in the story, as their guardian angels and astral travel companions.
One of Gordon’s gifts is time travel to the past, while Grace can travel to the future. They find that they can communicate with each other through thoughts.
Throughout the book, the children go on many adventures, from space travel, to helping Gordon’s father, who is a policeman, solve crimes, using their supernatural abilities.
I loved the way Robin Chambers wove the families into this story. Even Gordon’s father came to understand and respect the children’s abilities, and he was a true Doubting Thomas. Then there are other children in school who are intertwined throughout the story as well through their dreamtime.
All-in-all, it is a story that’s easy to read and thoroughly entertaining. Being completely captivated by these first two books, I know I must get Book 3 to see how the adventures continue!
If you love fantasy along the lines of J.R.R. Tolkein or C.S. Lewis, you’ll love these books by Robin Chambers.
"A pleasurable fun-fiction read for kids, and definitely a metaphysical question or two for adults!!"
Once again Robin Chambers lives up to his reputation for unique and captivating storytelling! I was hooked right from the first chapter. Although this book can be read as a standalone, the storyline is developed from Book One in the ‘Myrddin's Heir’ Series.
Gordon and Zack - an exceptionally talented young wizard and his spiritual companion cum alter ego – become involved in a magical series of events involving Grace and Zoe - a young girl with similar magical prowess whom Gordon met with her spiritual companion cum alter ego in Avalon when they first encountered Myrddin (Myrddin is the Welsh form of Merlin) and were told that Gordon was destined to be Myrddin’s Heir.
They meet in this dimension on Gordon’s and Grace’s first morning in their new secondary school. Gordon is still a hero among his more vulnerable peers and he helps them overcome bullying at school – just as he did in primary school before Tom’s father's death left him a vulnerable child, after which Gordon helped him to learn to read, and arranged for Myrddin to help him come to terms with his soldier father’s death in Afghanistan.
It's not only the interplay of daily routine activities at school and home that make this book particularly interesting, but also the introduction and ingenious inclusion of mythological figures and creatures such as Myrddin and Faeries, which heightens the suspense and makes the story even more entertaining.
The reader follows Gordon's developing relationship with Grace as they use their powers (telepathy, telekinesis and time travel) to amaze their peers and parents. They have exceptional ability to make intuitive decisions and solve day-to-day life issues with extraordinary skill.
The author's skill with vivid description far surpasses the average, and the characters and their missions in both physical and imaginary worlds are described in a most appealing style. The reader gets to follow each action in urban settings such as Chester and rural locations in Wales, which was particularly interesting for me, as I am from a different country (social culture) with no actual experience of the United Kingdom.
This book is not only for children. It raises some adult metaphysical and moral questions involving the juxtaposition of scientific and technological achievements on the one hand with the basic human need for spiritual enlightenment and satisfaction, and a fascination with the magical and mysterious.
I found it an enlightening read that took me beyond the classroom.
