When the Ambassador to the Dylft System—a veteran of the Dylft Wars—receives orders to lead a diplomatic mission to Craznaust, she wonders at the wisdom of accepting the assignment.
Still, when she arrives at the controversial Museum of Modern Warfare, she believes herself prepared to face the past and address whatever diplomatic issue she might find there.
But nothing could prepare her for what she finds deep within the museum. Something long buried. Something that could change everything she thought she knew about the war.

“As I always seem to say, another great story from Kristine Kathryn Rusch.”

“I am in awe of an author who is able to distill an entire story down to a single thought. … As Heinlein put it, ‘a great artist… can look at an old woman, portray her exactly as she is...and force the viewer to see the pretty girl she used to be.’”

The Museum of Modern Warfare eBook Kristine Kathryn Rusch Reviews
Wanted to ask a question 39 Pages for $2.99? Is that a typo?
Haunting story. Well up to the usual high Rusch standards.
A little haunting, a little romantic. very nice short story.
Short story. In depth and complete! Enjoyed it immensely! Left me wanting to know more and wishing for a sequel!
A short story that touches on the truths of love, loss and the poignancy of memory. Brought tears to my eyes, but I definitely enjoyed it.
This was a bittersweet story, as I have found many of Ms. Rusch's to be. She is a wonderful storyteller, and The Museum of Modern Warfare touched my heart. I am definitely glad I had the chance to read it today.
Makes me wish our museums were that good, and very glad they are not. I read it twice in a row, then re-read it a couple weeks later, as I was still thinking about it. That what a good story does, haunts you a little.
